Welcome to ElastixConnection.
If you have been here before, things are changing. Have a read of the Blog and it will give you some reasons, but over the next couple of months, you will see ElastixConnection come alive like it has not done before.
For starters, ElastixConnection will become a repository of Application Notes. In effect they are still the tutorials, however they will be released in PDF Form, but they will be embedded in the WebSite pages. This means that you can quickly browse the contents, before you decide to download the PDF file. These Applications notes will all be brought up to date, refreshed, revised and each one tested against Elastix 2.2, as well version numbers on each Application Note. As I am not battling with browser/CMS issues, application notes will be faster to produce, and available as a PDF file.
ElastixConnection will also be a repository for project ideas. These projects can be written up, discussed, debated, rebuked. Your wondering why?? Well there are a lot of talented people out there, who may like to tackle a project. They might not have an idea of what sort of project that they want to do, but here they can look at the ideas, the scope of the idea, and discuss it with everyone. You never know, even the Elastix developers may take an idea or two when things are quiet to put into the standard build.
I will be resurrecting the ElastixConnection Forums, however, with a difference. The only topics that will be available on the Fourms will be section dedicated to the Application Note, where corrections, improvements can be discussed. Even the subject itself can be discussed. Likewise a topic will be available for each of the Project Ideas, where ideas can be flushed out further, and if someone wants to take it up as a project, then they can discuss it further, including finding willing testers. The reason for the restriction of topics on the forums, is that there is a forum for Elastix at www.elastix.org which is the best place for Elastix discussions. There is no need to have two forums, and it doesn't mean that there are going to be many more people answering the forums.
Anyhow watch out over the next few months, as these changes come online. You can already start to see the New Application Notes coming online, as well as couple of conversions of older ones.
